Cyclone Fina is approaching the Territory coast and people need to be ready.

The system may bring gales, destructive winds and intense rainfall.

Schools in Minjilang, Warruwi, Pirlangimpi and Milikapiti are closed.

Cyclone shelters are open at Mamaruni/Minjilang and Warruwi schools. Residents accessing the shelter need to bring their own food and bedding. Pets are not allowed.

Darwin schools will be open today.

Now is the time to be finalising your preparations. Please shop sensibly and only buy what your household needs.

Follow the standard 3-day emergency kit guidance rather than large-scale purchasing.
