Emergency Alert

Emergency Alert is the national telephone warning system used by emergency services to send messages to landlines and mobile phones within a geographical area affected by an emergency.

The Emergency Alert system works for mobile phones based on the registered service address of the mobile phone or on the last known location of the handset at the time of the emergency. This includes visitors and people travelling in the area.

Do not wait for an official warning. It is important that you do not rely solely on receiving an official message.

Emergency Alerts will not be received if there is no phone service or if a phone is turned off.

You do not need to register for Emergency Alert.
