Make a fire escape plan

All residences in the NT must have a working photo-electric smoke alarm.

To further protect you and your family in the event of a house fire prepare a fire escape plan that includes all members of your household. Practise your plan in the dark:

• Include two ways out of every room
• Ensure you are able to escape from windows easily
• Whilst at home, leave the keys in the locks
• Nominate a safe meeting place.

Have a smoke alarm maintenance plan and be aware of basic fire safety tips.
