Health emergencies
The COVID-19 health situation has a dedicated website.
In all health emergency situations dial 000.
In a disaster situation, the NT Health will provide appropriate medical, and public health response.
The NT Health has arrangements with other health care providers in the Northern Territory (NT) to work collaboratively to provide medical care to the community during any local or regional disaster. Where a disaster is declared in the NT the available primary care services will be regularly updated on the Northern Territory Government website.
Medical service availability during and following an incident will be promoted on Secure NT, the ABC and other media sources.
In non-emergency situations there are a number of after-hours options for urgent medical care on the Northern Territory Government website.
To access non-urgent medical care, contact your nearest available GP clinic.
If GP services are not available, hospital emergency departments can be accessed.
Note: Emergency Department waiting times for non-urgent conditions during an emergency/disaster situation may be lengthy.
