Countering Violent Extremism
Violent extremism is a willingness to use unlawful violence, or support the use of violence by others, to achieve a political, ideological or religious goal. Violent extremism has no place in the Northern Territory.
Countering violent extremism (CVE) is about preventing violent extremism before it occurs.
Living Safe Together is a national initiative to help individuals and communities build resilience against violent extremism. Visit the Living Safe Together website to find out more about:
- what is violent extremism
- how to recognise the signs of violent extremism
- what you can do if you think someone might be at risk of radicalising to violent extremism.
For information on the Northern Territory’s approach to CVE, contact Security Policy and Programs at Security.CMC@nt.gov.au.
