Financial relief for families and households

Welfare Recovery and financial support established to support families affected by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Fina will close at 4pm Wednesday 10 December 2025.

While financial assistance specific to Ex-Tropical Cyclone Fina is no longer available, families who need guidance, referrals, or access to community services can find a range of services through the NT Community Directory.

Financial assistance for primary producers and non-profit organisations

Financial support is available for eligible primary producers and non-profit organisations affected by the Ex-Tropical Cyclone Fina who are in the local government areas (LGA).

  • City of Palmerston
  • Coomalie Community Council
  • Cox–Daly Unincorporated Area
  • Litchfield Council
  • Marrakai–Douglas Daly Unincorporated Area
  • Tiwi Islands Regional Council
  • Victoria Daly Regional Council
  • Wagait Shire Council
  • West Arnhem Regional Council
  • West Daly Regional Council

Freight Subsidy Disaster Assistance

Funding is provided to support primary producers with freight costs for items such as:

  • emergency fodder
  • replacement fencing
  • replacement animals.

Freight subsidy is up to 50% of freight costs incurred from the event – capped at $5,000.

Asset Assistance Grant

Non-profit organisations (NPO) whose assets have been significantly damaged as a direct result can apply to access a grant of up to $10,000 to repair or replace an asset.
