Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payments (AGDRP) and Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA)
The Australian Government has payments and allowances for communities impacted by recent flooding in the NT.
What help is available
You may be eligible for more than one of these.
Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP)
The AGDRP is a one-off payment for people who have been directly impacted by the floods, including where a person has:
- major damage to their home
- sustained serious injury
- lost an immediate family member as a result of the floods.
It provides $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per child.
Impact assessments are undertaken by emergency management agencies once locations are safe to access.
These assessments allow the Australian Government to activate additional support for affected communities.
The AGDR payment is available for eligible people in the following local government areas (LGAs):
- Adelaide River in Coomalie Local Government Area
- Alyangula in Groote Archipelago
- Angurugu in Groote Archipelago
- Berry Springs in Litchfield
- Collett Creek in Coomalie
- Daly River in Victoria Daly
- Darwin River in Litchfield
- Edith in Victoria Daly
- Fly Creek in Litchfield
- Jabiru in West Arnhem
- Katherine
- Lansdowne in Roper Gulf
- Maranunga in Victoria Daly
- Nauiyu in Victoria Daly
- Nganmarriyanga (Palumpa) in West Daly
- Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem
- Numbulwar in Roper Gulf
- Umbakumba in Groote Archipelago
- Wugularr (Beswick) in Roper Gulf
Australian Government Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA)
The DRA is also available for eligible people in the following Local Government Areas (LGA):
- Belyuen
- Coomalie
- Katherine
- Litchfield
- Roper Gulf
- Unincorporated NT (excluding the locality of Yulara)
- Victoria Daly
- Wagait
- West Daly
- West Arnhem
To get DRA, you must meet all eligibility rules, including working or living in one of the following declared areas. You can find all eligibility rules by checking who can get it.
You have until 7 October 2026 to make a claim.

These payments are on top of the other recovery assistance that has been activated under the joint Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

The quickest way to claim AGDRP and DRA is online through myGov.
