Daly River reached record flood level and is slowly receding.

An Emergency Warning remains in place for Daly River. Avoid the area.

Welfare support

The community of Nauiyu was fully evacuated to Darwin, where residents were accommodated at Foskey Pavilion.

Residents have since relocated to temporary accommodation in Batchelor - providing safer, more sustainable living arrangements as flood recovery continues. They are being supported by the Department of Children and Families Welfare Group.

School

Woolianna School will remain closed until further notice.

Students from Woolianna School are attending pop-up schools in Darwin and Palmerston and will attend pop-up schools once in Batchelor.

Boil water alert

NT Health has issued a boil water alert for Daly River. Use cooled boiled water or bottled water for:

  • drinking
  • preparing food
  • preparing baby formula
  • brushing teeth.
